Fun volunteer opportunity at Whole Foods in support of WA FarmLink

Great news! Three Seattle-area Whole Foods Markets are contributing 5% of their net sales* on Jan 19th to support Seattle Chefs Collaborative and Cascade Harvest Coalition (they're billing it as 'Local Food Systems' Day). Seattle Chefs Collaborative’s share of the proceeds will go towards this year's Seattle Farmer-Fisher-Chef Connection (March 1) and other efforts, such as our Quillisascut Farm School Scholarships. Cascade Harvest Coalition’s share will go to support our FarmLink program – helping the next generation of farmers access land and resources to be sustainable.

We are asking our friends to help get the word out via their mailing lists, facebook pages, twitter, even old-fashioned word-of-mouth. Please urge your friends to shop at the Westlake, Interbay or Roosevelt stores on January 19th, to support these two great organizations!

If you are interested in being a volunteer on the 19th, call us at 206-280-9578.

Thank you!!

*One way that Whole Foods Markets invest in their communities is through Community Giving Days (otherwise known as “5% Days”) where five percent of that day’s net sales are donated to a local nonprofit or educational organization.
