Organicology, Portland, OR
We're excited to invite you to Organicology, to be held February 10-12, 2011 in Portland, Oregon! You can register and check out event details on our website.
This dynamic, three-day event unites the organic food community to chart a sustainable food future across the broad spectrum of our trade, take stock in where we are, develop a vision for our future and develop the skills to get there.
Organicology 2011 builds on the success of our inaugural 2009 conference and promises to be even better. We'll focus on issues of sustainability, policy, food, farming and seeds, with inspiring, informed and engaging keynotes from Jim Hightower, Andrew Kimbrell and Stephen Jones, Ph. D.
Organicology delivers diverse, valuable opportunities to learn and connect:
Learning Intensives: Day long, in-depth, hands-on educational sessions providing tools and knowledge to help you advance organic and sustainable practices. Choose from five topics: soil management, seed growing, sustainable business, policy, or engaging with eaters.
Workshops: In-depth examination of key issues including seed production, financial incentives for sustainable farming, zero waste, farm food safety, labor practices and a USDA NOSB listening session.
Trade show: Learn about organic product and service providers, allied nonprofits, media and more.
Networking: There will be many opportunities to connect with peers and experts during the intensives, workshops and tradeshow, as well evening events, including comedic and musical entertainment, a seed swap, and a potato, wine, beer and spirits tasting.
As we continue to experience dynamic internal and external change that brings pressing challenges and opportunities, it's critical to regroup, reflect and rejuvenate to build on our success. Please join us at Organicology 2011!
Organicology is organized by Oregon Tilth, Organic Seed Alliance, the Food Trade Sustainability Leadership Association and Organically Grown Company.
