Mayor McGinn visits U-District Market this Saturday, July 10.  Mayor McGinn will be touring the University District and “the ave” this coming Saturday morning and will make a special stop by the U-District Farmers Market (voted one of the best Farmers Markets in the country by Travel and Leisure Magazine) at 10:30 am.

What: Seattle Tilth's City Chicken Coop Tour
When: Saturday, July 10 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: At various locations all over Seattle

Chef Demo:  Chef Thoa Nguyen, of Thoa’s restaurant will be our special guest chef this coming Saturday, July 10 at the Magnolia Farmers Market.  Chef Thoa will be using fresh seasonal northwest ingredients and combining them with traditional Vietnamese flavors to create light, refreshing summertime meals.  Recipes will be provided at the market and are available on line.  The cooking demo is free and open to the public and begins at 11:30 am under the market’s special events tent.

Come join us for a farm tour of PacaPride, near Granite Falls! This fun tour
at a newly developed guest ranch features pasture rotation and cross fencing
to promote grass, covered compost bins, year-round gardening, and providing
amenities for guests. As a bonus, David Capocci, one of the owners, will
highlight how to create and sell alpaca products. The walkabout includes
viewing the rentable event-yurt that will be a great asset to the area for
all kinds of events!
