USDA Mobile Slaughter Demonstration Day
Cheryl Ouellette, affectionately known as “the pig lady,” has been instrumental in starting up the new “Puget Sound Meat Producer’s Cooperative” (PSMPC) that owns this new mobile USDA approved livestock slaughter unit. Cheryl will be on hand to answer your questions. PSMPC is very interested in expanding its service area to include Clallam & Jefferson Counties, potentially building a new USDA unit to serve this area, if there are enough
livestock producers interested in the idea.
Watch and learn about this exciting new USDA-approved system that can bring local USDA inspected meat to the Olympic Peninsula USDA inspection is required for most marketing of meat products in the U.S. — bringing USDA approved slaughter and processing to our area would dramatically increase opportunities to market locally produced red meat!
